ARTIST STATEMENT

Mimita Marrero is a Puerto Rican autodidact visual artist based in New York City. Her practice explores cultural identity, inherited memory, and the dialogue between tradition and contemporary expression.

Working primarily in acrylic, Marrero approaches painting as both construction and exploration — layering gesture, color, and narrative depth. Her compositions reflect the resonance of Caribbean origin and metropolitan experience, capturing moments of quiet reflection, light, and presence.

Select works from her limited edition releases include a structured impact allocation, directing a fixed portion of each acquisition toward initiatives that provide tangible support to communities in need. This framework is applied only to specific series; other works are released independently as part of her broader artistic exploration.

The current series, including Entre Legado y Mar, is dedicated to supporting communities in Venezuela through tangible contributions. Each edition carries a clear and fixed allocation, ensuring that each acquisition contributes directly and measurably.

Marrero’s overarching artistic vision is to establish a body of work grounded in elegance, intentionality, and permanence — where scarcity, narrative coherence, and presentation define the collector experience.
